Joe Manganiello Discusses His Views on Parenthood Following Sofía Vergara Separation

<html><head></head><body><div><div><h2><p>Joe Manganiello detailed his stance on becoming a dad after sharing whether kids was the reason he and Sofía Vergara broke up.</p></h2><div><p><span><span>By</span></span><span><span>Jul 25, 2024 12:18 PM</span><span>Tags<svg></svg></span></span></p></div></div><div><div><p> Joe Manganiello Says He "Definitely" Wants Kids Following Sofía Vergara Split</p><div><p><strong>Joe Manganiello</strong> is looking forward to embracing another role in the future.</p><p>The <em>True Blood</em> star, who recently opened up about whether having kids became a defining point in his breakup from ex <strong>Sofía Vergara</strong>, shared his stance on one day becoming a dad.</p><p>"It's something that's definitely on the docket,” Joe said during the July 24 episode of the <em>Podcrushed</em> podcast, “you know, at some point."</p><p>As Joe—who is currently dating Caitlin O'Connor—explained, the aspect of fatherhood “was never not on the table.”</p><p>“At every stage in life that was always something that was always talked about,” he added. “That was always on the forefront of any serious relationship that I got into."</p><p>In fact, Joe shared that he would bring up the topic early on since he's "always wanted to be a father," jokingly adding that he has "big dad energy."</p><p>"I think I have a lot to give,” he continued, “in that department.”</p><p>Joe’s latest comments on parenthood come shortly after he shared his perspective on the end of his seven-year marriage to Sofía.</p></div></div><div><p>Though the&nbsp;Modern Family&nbsp;star said the couple broke up because Joe wanted children and she did not, he shared the assertion was "simply not true."</p></div><section><p><span></span><span>Gabe Ginsberg/WireImage</span></p></section><div><p>"We did try to have a family for&nbsp;the first&nbsp;year and a half," he told&nbsp;Men's Journal&nbsp;in an interview published July 16. "And we had a huge conversation right out of the gate during the first month we dated. I said, 'If you're done with kids, then I understand. Just tell me, and I'll know what this is, and that's okay.'"</p><p>He added, "And I swore to her that I would never leave if it didn't work out. And I didn't."</p><p>According to the <em>Magic Mike</em> star, they ultimately split because "two people grew apart, and sometimes that happens."</p></div><div><p>Earlier this year, Sofía—who recently&nbsp;debuted her romance with orthopedic surgeon&nbsp;Justin Saliman—spoke out the former couple’s divorce, noting that kids became a dealbreaker.</p><p>"My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn't want to be an old mom,"&nbsp;the 52-year-old&nbsp;told Spanish newspaper&nbsp;El País&nbsp;in January.
